ATS Resume Checker is a small, self-serve tool. This page describes what happens when you upload a resume and paste a job description — in plain language, matching how the product actually works today.
What we collect
- The resume file you upload, which we parse into text to score against the job description.
- The job description text you paste.
- Optional: an email address if you join the AI-rewrites waitlist.
- Technical scan records used for quality monitoring (see below).
How we use it
Resume and job-description text are used to extract keywords and calculate a match score shown to you in the browser. Waitlist emails are used only to notify you when paid AI rewrite features launch — we do not sell email lists.
AI processing (third party)
Keyword extraction is performed by calling Google's Gemini API (via LiteLLM) with your job description text. That means JD text is sent to Google's API for processing. Do not paste secrets or confidential material you are not comfortable sending to that provider.
What we store
By default, each completed scan may write a local quality-monitoring trace that includes: timestamp, resume filename, job description text, keyword lists, score, and a truncated snippet of resume text (about the first 500 characters) plus a hash of the full resume text — not the entire resume by default. Full resume text is only stored if an explicit server debug flag is enabled for short troubleshooting windows.
Waitlist signups are stored as email, source, and timestamp.
Retention
Scan traces are kept for a limited window (currently 30 days by default) and then removed. Waitlist emails are kept until you ask to be removed or the list is used for a Tier 1 launch notice.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell your resume or job-description content. The only third-party processing intended for core scoring is the Gemini API call described above (and the hosting providers that run this website and API).
Deletion requests
To request deletion of a waitlist email or help investigating a scan record, email contact@saarlabs.com. Include the email address you used and approximately when you scanned, if relevant.
Changes
If storage or AI providers change in a material way, this page will be updated. The upload form will continue to point here so the on-page promise stays aligned with reality.
